Château Croix Mouton
Bordeaux Supérieur Red Bordeaux Blend
This Bordeaux is dark ruby in color with medium intensity and a light red rim.
On the nose, blackberries, blueberries, oak, vanilla, licorice, wildflowers and black pepper.
Dry on the palate with blueberries, cherries, strawberries, eres, wood, peppercorn, herbs and spices.
Medium bodied with medium acidity.
Medium finish with soft tannins and black pepper.
This wasn't bad at all, yet not my style. Better with chicken dishes or hard cheese.
14% alcohol by volume.

NOSE: distinct cherry … chocolate covered cherries….and nuts.
TASTE: middle-weight bordeaux without any overt flaws. Dry leaves and cherries, bitter chocolate and baking spices. Nuts - almonds, walnuts, etc. Great for the $13 I paid. 90.

A great slow giant French red to relax too - a perfect Sunday evening red with a nice meal or some blue cheese to wind down a weekend. Hearty, a muted but still noticeable bouquet of that Bordeaux terroir on the nose and a nice blend on the palette. Needs to breath a bit before fully enjoying - decanting also a good idea here. Smooth with the traditional tobacco/dark chocolate notes on finish.
