Solid but not distinguished. Good value though. Deep cherry fruit, a little oak influence. Finish is savory and friendly, with lots of soft tannins.

Very bright and crisp early on. Mellow with some air - complex and balanced with red fruit and chocolate notes. Really nice. 93 Pts from WS seem high but not unreasonable.

I don't know about 92 points, but I paid $22 for a 2011 Chianti classico riserva, and it's good. So it's a winner.

Dark purple in the glass. Shy nose on opening. Black cherry, plum, and licorice leather on the palate. Medium minus tannins (disappointing) and medium acidity (was hoping for a bit more there, too). Without looking at the composition, I'm guessing an inordinate amount of Merlot is taking too much of the edge off of the Sangiovese. A decent wine, but doesn't seem true to the appellation. This is a Classico Riserva, after all. For that, I'm marking it down a touch.

Cherry, leather and vanilla. Typical and tasty chianti classico.

Overripe: pruny and too rich. Not a great pairing in my book, but maybe its just the heat.
