Agreed with other comments that this is more old world than new world - which surprised me considering every other Martinelli I've had exemplified new world attributes. This had a very strong aroma of clay to me. On the palate game/smoked meat flavors dominated followed by black cherries. Fairly tannic, medium(ish) body. It was very nice.
