Scarlet tawny. Mostly translucent. Nice bouquet. Notes of rhubarb, raspberries, cranberries, dark earth, spices and some wood. Rich and powerful in the mouth. Masculine yet has a nice sweetness. Still evolving. Needed 3 hrs of air to open up. Drink now or hold.

WNH NY, 2021.
From magnum.
A gift from big
@Joe Lucca. Like me, he loves great burgs, and this didn’t suck either. Lighter in presentation, visually and on the palate. French oak has a very distinctive signature, along with hint of sour cherries. Palate shows pomegranate along with a hint of sour cherries. So well structured, with bright acidity keeping everything together. No rush to consume this. Lots of runway ahead of it.

2007 Beaune Ursules from mag is not a blockbuster, but definitely in its prime with pretty red fruits and a developing mushroomy, earthy character. 2005 Chapelle is youthful but starting to strut - sleek, expressive, cool black fruit with a minty, spicy note.

Dense and rich. Lovely stuff. A bit young now but good potential.

Tawny and translucent. Nice ripe cherry nose plus notes of rhubarb, earth, cranberry, and some wood. Lots of power in the mouth. Chewy but becomes more approachable with air. Great mouth feel with softened tannins. Still has that 96 acidity tho. With more air the fruit fades and a dry finish emerges. Was good in the first few hours then lost it’s better qualities.

Still youthful garnet color. Almost opaque. Fruit forward nose with notes of black cherry, rhubarb, brambly brush, moist earth and a little menthol. Fruit matches the acidity and delivers amazing balance. Another 96 that seems to have come around. A few years the acidity was too much to handle, but now it’s got a nice balance.

A little one dimensional, defiantly too young for the appellation, it could have potential, but right now not expressing much at all.
