Last ‘16 bottle. A blend of 85% Cab Sauv, 7% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot & 3% Cab Franc. Deep Ruby with aromas of fresh dark fruits and some minty notes. The palate shows plums, blackberries and black cherries with sweet spice and notes of cacao. This is a consistent wine and a good value, this is my house Cab. The finish has good length, firm tannins, on the smoother side, and is well balanced. Past it’s prime drink now.

Dark red with blue/black fruit aromas and spice notes. The wine is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Malbec and Petit Verdot, aged in French oak for 16 months. On the palate blackberry and plum flavors with herb spice, not as jammy as prior vintages. The wine had good balance with lively acidity and drying tannins. Full-bodied wine finishes with a spicy ending. Robert Mondavi wines are a bargain, this Merlot is good, grab an older vintage as this wine aged well. Tasting Sample.

Classic rip Californian Merlot, flattering and ripe. A great crowed pleaser, so ideal for a party or other events with a mix crowed. Deep dark red on color, nose of candy, red berries, light touch of mint, bell peppers, licorice and prunes, medium body, round tannins, fruity with nice acidity, a bit hollow in the mid pallet, pleasant finish. Overall pleasant yet nothing special. My score 86, drink to 2021

Dark ruby in color with medium intensity and a reddish rim.

Light nose of blueberries, plums, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, earth, dust, peppercorn, leather, smoke and chocolates.

Medium plus in body and soft, with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, plums, cherries, sweet strawberries, leather, earth, wood, vanilla, light vegetables, coffee, cloves, chocolates, tobacco, beef jerky and peppercorn.

Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tart cranberries.

This Merlot is very enjoyable by itself. A Good sipping wine.
Nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel and delicate complexity.

This 5 year old is drinking very nicely now, and will be good in the next few years.

Needs 90 minutes to open up properly and show some tannins.

15% alcohol by volume.

More heat and less velvet than expected - thought it was Zinfandel blind due to the heat and a peppery spice - unusual

Dark red color, almost purple with blue and black fruit aromas. The wine is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Malbec and Petit Verdot, aged in French oak for 16 months. The taste reveals complex blackberry and plum flavors with sweet spice, a touch jammy. The wine was well balanced with good acidity and soft developed tannins. This full-bodied wine finishes with an almost velvety ending. Delightful! Robert Mondavi wines are a bargain, this Merlot is one of many examples.
