True to the region, i think. It’s everything that I expected. Dark coloring, leaning towards purple. When properly decanted I get some grass, strawberry, and wild berries. Medium acidity, medium to heavy on tannins. Some black tea and herbaceous notes. Has a sour cranberry profile. Medium length finish.

Jouguet is a classic producer but this cuvée comes up a bit short. More stemmy than pyrazine-y and a bit dilute this comes across more like Gamay than good Chinon.

A little subdued for a Joguet. That being said, still has all of the cab franc character, chalky minerality, iron notes, rustic fruit and good acid.
