Oh man does that 15.2% alcohol bust through. Even with a chill this wine is super hot.

Smells fresher and younger than it's 2007 Bondi Home Ranch counterpart. I guess that bulb in alcohol and new oak helps.

Nose is bing cherry, cola and oak. Palate is blasted candied cherry, anise, cedar, baking spice.

Probably my favorite Martinelli outside of Blue Ridge. Opened up beautifully, full of bright fruit.

Full bodied, unexpectedly high alcohol level (15.7%), fruit-forward (ripe fruit), unfiltered Pinot Noir from renowned Russian River Valley producer Martinelli (managed by pioneering winemaker Helen Turley until 2010)

A little on the ripe side with a little too much alcohol however this wine has many layers with spices, black cherries, blackberries black tea licorice and a touch of oak. If the alcohol level was a little lower I would have guessed a burgundy premier or grand cru but that's not the case.

Opened up nicely after 20 minutes.. especially the nose. Sweet but not overly so. Cherry pie. Very drinkable.
