Syrah has been a more recent obsession of mine. For the value and approachable experience, I love Crozes Hermitage. The 2010 vintage is drinking in its prime currently, but could benefit from a few more years still. The nose was very inviting, introducing crushed rock, violet petals, grilles lamb, and espresso bean. The liquid it self was racy and delicately structured, exhibiting notes of dark chocolate covered cherry, anise, crushed cinnamon stick, and a generous finish that lingered, but didn't grip, like it was welcome. An impressive bottle none the less; I paired it with mediterranean grill at a near by Turkish restaurant, at which it felt most at home.

Cheers!

Darn good, like better than some of the higher tiers they make, good layers of black and bramble fruits, w/ nice Syrah backbone.

The flavors are there, plum, clove, dry wood and leather, just not in concentration. You get what you pay for. Finishes like a crianza Rioja, sort of racy, dry and slightly tannic. I appreciate despite its youth, it doesn't taste fresh and ruby, but dark and stormy.

Goût de fruit rouge bien présent, tanins légers, mais vin suffisamment charpenté. Vin de soif!

This hasn't aged well. Rather thin and astringent. Too bad.

Malberry, red berries, смола, в послевкусии чернослив. Таннинов мало.
