Evolved considerably since last winter; voluptuous and complex, brimming with mulled fruit, glycerine and chewy smoldered oak. Drink now.

Burly, with mulled fig and blackberry, and savory wood. Rustic, and not so fatty, but with potent fruit for a few years of cellaring.

Wow! Really earthy and bold, with solid structure and just the right amount of tanins. No style better than Chateneuf du pape in my opinion, and this is an excellent one...

Lightish body - lighter than I would expect. Aromas of red licorice and fallen leaves. Sour cherries and earthy notes on the palate. Light acidity.

Concur with Wine Spectator's review with respect to taste; still has time to age! The "gutsy, square-jawed style" has mellowed somewhat but still has a definitive presence after 2.5 hours of decanted aeration.

Good not great. Probably wouldn't buy it again.

A very good Chat du Pape great flavors easy tones but not the elegant finish and connection between notes of a better one

Rubied, semi-transparent. Nose of violets, vanilla bean, raspberry, with evolving notes of cherry pie filling - very inviting. The palate delivers red fruit with subtle oak notes. Lighter body than expected from a CDP, but delivers soft tannins and a sense of elegance. This effort is saved by a punch of red fruit with juicy acidity on the finish.
