Fairly intense and herbaceous. Loads of tart red fruits, black peppercorn, and dried rosemary to the nose. The pallet had a little more alcoholic flare to it (though after an hour or so into the bottle, it subsided and released more rich velvety qualities) with notes of raspberry, dark chocolate, and pomme fruit to the finish. Tannins were supple, but the acid was slightly high. Makes a great wine to partner up with roast salmon, or even corned beef. Maybe try after some more bottle time.

The 2021 vintage is a lot more complex. The fruit is more tart and there are clear peppercorn notes. It ends with a nice earthy grit.

Big fruit notes to start...tart strawberry that gives way to a dry, earthy middle and a subtle metallic finish.

A little mint on the nose, then licorice as it opens up. Black cherry fruit. Finishes with some briar. High acidity and medium bodied. Amazingly, it paired well with a variety or foods, even steamed shrimp.
