Hands down best rouge Coteaux Champenois, it’s so special to have this with some age. It’s stunning tonight, drinking like a top notch red burg, wafting layered red cherry fruit, floral and spice inflicted aromatics with an incredibly luxurious texture, silky tannins, immense depth and a massively long mineral laced finale. Special wine.

Surprisingly powerful with moderate tannins. Dark cherry fruit, rose petals and a hint of oak. Definitely a sign of the warmer vintage.

Complex and elegant with notes of macerated red fruits and lots of minerals

Notes of raspberries, wild flowers and spice. Given the youthfulness of this bottle, not surprised by the tart cherry/raspberry palate followed with minerality and slight toasted oak. Nice long finish.

A rare PN from EO where I’ve only had their champagnes. This is brooding and delightfully deep but still young

Still catching up on notes from the Egly Ouriet night. This is the first straight non sparkling Pinot Noir I have had from Champagne. Cherries and Forest Floor on nose and palate. As good as a Premier Cru Burgundy in a warm year like 2015. Apparently two thirds of the crop was wasted in a green harvest leaving the remaining third to ripen. More acid than Burgundy. Only 200 cases made so quite rare. Delectable. This is the Ambonnay Rouge as per the label.

Best Couteaux Champagnois I've had but not surprised from Egly. Nose like Gevrey but texture of Chambolle.
