Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon

Nice but nothing spectacular. With Luc Morlet no longer making these, it will be interesting to see what the wines are like under Martha McClellan's direction.

We were between 6's and 7's last night so we opted for Vineyard 7 and 8 2008 cab. Mountain fruit did the trick.

More bite than bark. Ok cab nothing special.

Medium ruby with a nose of black cherries, anise, wet gravel, mocha, pipe tobacco, and toffee. Full-bodied with smooth velvety tannins. I think this wine is in its prime. I love the bold, full mouthfeel on this wine. Nice, smooth finish. Birthday wine!

Paired with a Porterhouse.

Only ok, pretty strong tannin, not all that much fruit

Missing distinctive forward fruit. Love Spring Mountain and the owners of 7&8 but the 07 lacked

Disappointed as it was not much up front and the finish was just ok
