2015 over delivers once again on Barolo normale wines. This is one the classier examples. Saturated and dense, but showing some finesse and fine grained tannin. Outstanding.

Marco Parusso's 2014 Barolo is one of the most stunning wines of the vintage. In 2014, Parusso made a single Barolo that incorporates fruit from Mariondino, Mosconi, Le Coste and most of Bussia. Rich, deep and explosive on the palate, with stunning aromatic presence and overall intensity, the 2014 is remarkably vivid. Beams of supporting tannin give the wine its energy and persistence. Wild cherry, plum, mocha, dried flowers and lavender are some of the many nuances that take shape as this superb Barolo continues to show off its remarkable complexity and personality. The 2014 was vinified with 100% whole clusters and spent 24 months in French oak, 100% of it new. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2018)

Just an incredible experience from start to finish, what all wine should aspire to be.

The nose was exotic and alluring with spiced dried orange, crushed strawberry, wild floral tones, hints of vanilla and sweet minerality. On the palate, I found silky textures offset by energizing tart cherry with sweet and savory spice, licorice, inner herbal and florals tones. The finish was long, resonating on tart cherry and orange citrus, with hints of fine tannin lingering long.

Tar and roses. Tar in the mouth. Not much fruit. Hard.

Barolo w/ 30% carbonic- adds some femininity! Dried cherry, rosewater, blood orange herbal tea, mossy/grassy element. Palate has some strawberry candy flavors going on. Not your grandfather's Barolo.
