A pretty blend of roses, strawberries and mint introduces the 2022 Rosato Scalabrone. This is silky-smooth with medium-bodied weight and unexpected depth. Zesty citrus gives way to ripe red berries and sweet spice. A saline tinge of minerality defines the finish as the 2022 tapers off crisply refreshing and buzzing with a residual acid tension. 2012 Vintage. Clear copper-tinged pink showing it's age a bit but still vibrant and delicious. The fruit has faded a bit but there is still a fine balance with the acidity and it remains long on the finish. Ravishing with hard cheeses.

Bolgheri DOC 2013, 12.5%. Good color, even if personally I found it too "syrup" pink. Clean delicate nose, mostly flowery, a hint of rise petal. In the mouth quite light, little persistence. Fine wine, but no emotions. 78/100
