The 2019 Viré-Clessé is a cuvée predesigned to be what you might call a consumer-friendly Mâconnais from less noble terroirs. I can see how the bouquet would instantly entrance the casual drinker with clean and pure red apple and lime cordial scents. The palate is rounded, not soft, but mouth-filling with lime and Clementine notes. Not long, but very drinkable. (Neal Martin, Vinous, November 2021)

Holy smokes, this is good. Ripe and almost fat, but then the acidity brings it back. I want scallops, beurre blanc, and a glass of this!

A beautifully opulent Mâconnais Chardonnay. A luminous golden robe with bright gold reflections. Bouquet of caramel, honey, lemon and lemon compote. Notes of ripe lemon and and apricot on the palate with amazingly bright acidity and a lengthy finish. A very well balanced wine. #vin_elegance #viréclessé #maconnais #chardonnay
