Needs air (it’s a little bitter and clenched at first). But then it displays pure, ripe dark cherry fruit, and notes of tobacco leaf and stony minerals. Good acidity and balance in the very pure palate. Tremendous value!

This is a soft Zin, with aromas of berries and subtle spice. On the palate jammy blackberry and strawberry flavors, nice acidity on a balanced frame, soft tannins. Medium finish ending with fruit notes. Tasting Sample.

The most available, affordable, and overall great OVZ of this region. I drink it often and have found it in distant places when I'm wanting a Amador Zin. I like that. Kudos to the person at Sobon that deals with vendors! A wonderful small winery and a great wine every year!

Great Buy! Nice Zin from Sobon Estate one of my favorite Zin makers in Ca. Nice Cherry aroma on the nose with just the right amount of Oak. Worth a case!!

1 person found it helpfulNov 15th, 2014Great value. Fragrant, intense but not jammy. Lots of minerally, ripe black cherry fruit. Mouthfilling dark fruit, dry and full. Only quibble is a bit of tannic bitterness that maybe suggests a bit of overextraction. But at the price, who cares?

This is a very pure tasting, balanced Zin. Great value at $14. Perfumey brambly black raspberry fruit and a little carrot cake on the nose. Beautifully ripe tangy black raspberry and blackberry fruit in the mouth, with some subtle stony minerals in the finish. Full bodied but with good acids. Not much tannin to speak of. Perfect for everyday dinners.
