I don’t drink Malbec often, but when I do… I prefer Catena!

But really… it’s good. Oak. Leather. Fruit.

It tastes like I’m smoking a cigar in the forest.

I really like this wine. Bold fruit flavor paired with Beecher's tangy flagship cheese. Great treat!!

Fresh and black with good minerality and balance. A bit pedestrian.

At 1st very nice dark fruit with a sour cherry bite and a bit of smoky oak. As it warmed up it became more candied. Better slightly chilled

Young but balanced entry-level #malbec from #catenazapata which I had the pleasure of visiting in #mendoza last year. Dark fruit, tobacco, a trace of garrigue.

This wine was a good balance for our meal of beef filets with a Southwestern rub and chipotle mashed potatoes. Good body, nice fruit tones.

Very bright out of the bottle with fairly acidic black fruits. It develops well into a velvety red with hints of leather, oak and black pepper. Medium+ tannins and finish. Definitely will drink again!

2006 Catena Malbec priced at $40. Made from high-altitude grapes grown at the foothills of the Andes Mountains in Mendoza, Argentina, this wine features flavors of black cherry, black raspberry and mocha. Enjoyable with or without food.
