Sipping Fine Wine

Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, spice, floral and earthy notes. On the palate flavors of sweet plum and cherry with smoky spice, pepper and floral notes wrapped in lively acidity. Fine sweet tannins, long finish, great structure ending with fruit, spice and slight earthy tones. Good value!

Dill, herb garden, garrigue. An unusually interesting Zin from Napa.

This is a delicious Zinfandel from Napa Valley. Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, earth, chocolates, tobacco, spices, mocha, black coffee, cola and peppercorn.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with a tangy finish.

Needs 3 hours to open up properly, balance itself out and remove the jaminess. Good right out of the bottle too.

Very enjoyable by itself or with food like a burger and fries.

Aged for 12 months in American oak barrels. 100% Zinfandel grapes.

14.9% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$25.

For my 200th Zinfandel review on vivino, here is a beautiful one from Napa Valley.

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Strong nose of blackberries, sweet cherries, black currants, cedar, leather, licorice, vanilla, espresso, cola, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, alcohol, black pepper and spices.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, raisins, maple, chocolates, coke, coffee, spices, vanilla, cedar, licorice, eucalyptus and peppercorn.

Long finish with soft tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a delicious Zinfandel from Napa Valley. Strong and fruit forward, without being too jammy. Feels like a Napa Cabernet Sauvignon.

Well balanced with nice complexity. Big, yet elegant. Showing a great mouthfeel with a spicy finish.

Good right out of the bottle and good by itself or with food, and will very nicely with a nice burger.

I'd love to revisit it in 3 years. A good quality wine.

100% Zinfandel grapes were aged in oak barrels for 12 months (45% new American Oak ).

A great Zin, I’m told it’s the last Zin producer in Oakville. Everyone’s gone cab

Purple red, moderately extracted. Caramel and raspberry notes in nose. Raspberry and blackberry flavors, tart, dry, lots of fine grain skin astringency (ash-like) on finish

First time tasting from this producer. Lovely Zin! All the spice was there, and beautifully layered with notes of tobacco and mushroom. 15% and didn't taste hot at all. Well done!

Did you know that there is Zin planted in Oakville? Yep, but less than 10 acres, mostly by Ghost Block's owners. They make this excellent Oakville Zin for - wait for it - only $25. Not big and jammy, but rather dark fruit and a very "creamy" finish. This is my new crowd pleasing wine that I have open for guests
