A big boy approaching maturity. Needed an hour to fully show itself.

Popped the cork on this last night and this evening, wow! A full day open really served this beaut well. Soaring nose of violets, dark fruit, just lit cigar, and a hint of graphite. Tastes of dark red/blue fruits, silky tannin, and a nice frame of acidity. A bit more complexity on the palate and this would be a few ticks more for me perhaps. But still, bravo. Glad to have more.

2006 vintage. Rich liqueur of Cabernet, uber ripe.. Another hedonistic sexpot. Not for anti-pleasure seekers or republicans.

Wow. Quintessential Yakima Cab. Big and brawny, lots of new oak. Big blue fruit dominates. Polished with a 60 second finish.

Solid fruit and solid structure.. Lovely nose of cassis, anise, and blueberry.. Full mouthfeel but not over the top, just a smooth cab.. Very nice introduction to Owen Roe.. I'll definitely be revisiting them soon.

Well I had a review of this fantastic wine right after the update, and apparently didn't save it, as I was unused to the GUI. So here goes from memory: this is a beauty, with such depth, breadth, and complexity, that I will only touch on the highlights which subsequently have burned themselves into my psyche. This is pure espresso, mocha, blackberry cobbler, black cherry and black currant without being jammy. It is layered with toast, scorched earth notes, charred meat aromas, rosemary, a touch of mint. Violets and black roses, balanced acidity lifting the weight of its complexity on atlas like shoulders of absolutely sensuous perfect and satiny tannins. Tobacco, white pepper, nutmeg and much much more! If you can find it, grab it at any cost! It is just now hitting its stride, and it's 'certainly not showing any signs that it is slowing'. Trip down a chocolate river anyone?

Opened to great promise, seemed to fall apart as time went on.

Still drinking surprisingly well. This 14-year-old CAB-from this Saint Paul Oregon winery was quite impressive. The grapes came from a distinguished vineyard out of the Yakima Valley in Washington state. Tannins and @fruits still doing their job.

Smells a little pruney... fruit and green pepper.
