Less funk on the nose as last time but still a tasty wine that is in its prime.

Beautiful wine. Funk on the nose that persisted but didn’t really translate in the glass. Nice balanced dark cherry notes. Have one more bottle. Will drink soon and hope for the same experience.

Another wine from our Friday night gathering we opened the 2012 Owen Roe Red Wine a Bordeaux land of 36% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Malbec.

On the nose there was dark fruit, black cherry, blackberry, black currant, dark chocolate, dried herbs, spice and a good earthy component.

On the palate was dark cherry, blackberry, green bell pepper, black currant, violets, a touch of sweetness and some earth.

This wine is full bodied with medium + acidity and medium + sandpaper tannins that lead into a long dark fruit finish. The weekend is upon us so enjoy your wine and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

I know it's a bold statement, but this may be one of the best wines I've ever had.

Dark and brooding. Black velvet. Anise, violet, blackberry compote. Long, mouthwatering finish.

French oak. 20% new, the rest neutral. 20 mos in oak. Big and full still showing a good amount of oak, albeit somewhat restrained for this region, varietal and style. Round and flavorful. Great meat wine.
