Gorgeous intoxicating nose proclaiming its aristocracy and product of ancient 140+ year old vines. Some peppermint and cocoa notes and later more typical earthy nuances. Palate is rich with some savouriness, never heavy, with soft silky tannins. A brilliant wine from a great vintage. Even at 20 years it has a long way to go but hard to resist now. 1996 vintage.

I think I have met the first SOM who loves burgundy and Australian Syrah......recommended this hill of grace and it was totally fantastic......I thought it would be too much but it was balanced, subtle, jam, spice, minty, ......the SOM told me to stop trying to describe it and just enjoy it....amazing wine
