Morgon Vieilles Vignes Gamay

Winter Beaujolais - deep and generous with ripe, juicy fruit and a silky, Pinot-like texture. Low sulfur, but too ripe and round to fit the natty style. May be more interesting in a couple years

Lurid ruby. Vibrant black raspberry, cherry and violet scents, along with suggestions of licorice, smoky minerals and earth. Concentrated yet lithe and precise, offering bitter cherry, red/dark berry and spicecake flavors braced by a spine of juicy acidity. Silky, even tannins shape the finish, which hangs on with strong persistence and resonating florality. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, October 2019)

Sawdust, forest floor, mushroom and truffle. Tart red berries and blackberries. Elevated acidity and medium to medium minus tannin. 2014 is a solid vintage.

From the magnum tasted at the Chateau. Almost Northern Burgundy as it is lightly Oaked but very well integrated. Highly recommended and a snip at 12E ex cellar.

Pepper and strawberries with a nice punch in the mid palate, the 2012 shows great freshness and "tension". Very promising

This was the "Le Plateau" (not the old vines) and loved it.

Translucent brilliant garnet/ruby.
Red cherry, earthy mushroom, hint of baking spice.
Balance tart and tangy with light chalky silky tannin.

So good Fresh, juicy. Nice acidity. Just another bottle on my Beaujolais journey of late.

Very pleasant fruit, red and black. Not too much tannin or acid, but the wine is still lively and in balance, not flat or flabby.
