Always good to revisit these Garnacha-based wines every once in a while. As usual, this is clean, focused...and utterly monolithic and devoid of complexity. However, the value is compelling, and it definitely does the business for hot dogs, burgers or bbq for a crowd. For certain, we’ve all paid $5-$6/bottle more for a southern CDR not nearly as good.

Sep 20th, 2019Bright red nose with some nice cedary sharpness. Deeper on the palate, black cherries and a bit of stewed strawberries. Pleasant light tannic grab, pretty brisk acidity, very clean red pepper and cherry finish. I really like the mouthfeel and drinkability of this one--neither too fruity or too acidic.

1 person found it helpfulJan 28th, 2016For about $8 at many wine shops you can find this garnacha is a peppery marvel. It's the major note on the palate and it is aggressive. I rate this 8.5 because it is exactly what it needs to be, a quaffable wine at an extraordinarily cheap price.

Simply fresh, young garnacha with its characteristic notes: black cherries, blueberries and peppery hints…. Bright flavors with balanced structure and long smooth finish … I do see lots of wines with higher ratings that ONLY wish to be just close to this ONE but I can’t help to make this, my little, contribution to a better informed humanity ! …
