Very aromatic and perfumed. Savory. Some oxygen exposure?

Easily the most enigmatic wine of this morning’s tasting. Briny, savory, ever-changing and shifting as I keep coming back to it. Everything from golden apple to tropical to green herbs and white flowers and dash of honey. The sum of its parts only merely suggests Riesling- I’ll admit I would have called this Loire Chenin. Beautiful wine with a unique identity and sense of place, produced from some of the oldest Riesling vines in the country.

Didn’t find the “fennel pollen” note that Mr. Schildknecht describes, but certainly the lemon zest and acidity. Austrian zing.

Dry hay on the nose. Fruits are not bright. Dry and muted. Pineapple, underripe green melon, lemons, a touch of stone fruit, touch of honey, crushed dry minerals. Finishes a touch short and flat.

Crisp, dry, bright acidity with a hint of effervescence. Beautiful dry Riesling. Notes of green apple and citrus.

Broad and rich. Chardonnay-like. Dry. Wouldn't guess Riesling.

GruVelt not Riesling as ID here...Subtle minerality with hints of flint/slate and steely yet carries stone fruit undertone. Unusual wine with backbone and grace. Yun rec'd at Benu.
