Sooooo good! $45 bucks…Blackcurrants, sliced strawberries, cured meats, and dried herb notes all emerge from the 2016 Syrah The Beautiful Powerline Vineyard, and it shows a more seamless, elegant style that still carries considerable power and richness.

Dark inky color with a short brick rim.

Great nose of black plums, black currants, oak, cloves, earth, barnyard, vanilla, tobacco, dark coffee, chocolates, peppercorn, spices, light vegetables and pencil lead.

Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, spices, dark chocolates, coffee, leather, earth, light vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a great Syrah from Washington State. Well balanced and fruit forward with mild complexity and a great mouthfeel.

Tangy, beautiful, spicy and delicious. Long coffee finish that lasts for a while.

This 7 year old is a great sipping wine, to have by the porch.

Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up. Drinking very nicely now, and will be good in the next 10 years. Teeth staining color, so not so good for a first date 😃

Thank you Scott for sharing this gorgeous wine with me.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

The perfume on this is as light a Syrah as I’ve tasted. Excellently done.

2016. A truly big and excellent syrah! Hard to describe — fruit-forward and flavorful

Sheeeeeeet. Chaz was a bit heavy handed on this one. Of course, this is expected of him and not in a bad way. Boozy, voluptuous, and austere in its way. A bit unweildy with hedonistic raspberry, kirsch, wax lips and wild strawberry jam tones. Exactly what I want from K Vint expression. It's not classic, it's not by the books, but it's goddamned interesting. A valiant brandish of swagger.

I love K, but this was a disappointment compared to their other bottles. Off kilter, disjointed. Fruit, acid, tannins are just all over the place and clashing. No harmony. Time will tell if this comes around, but I'll pass.

Violets, charcoal, graphite, cracked black pepper. Wish it had a little more of a mid-palate and finish. Nice, but not really feelin' it, especially at the price point.

Don't miss this one...great Syrah from Charles Smith. Not many wines that score 90+ year after year. Wet earth, plum and hint of lime. Clean polished finish that gives way to savory herb and spice notes.
