Almost buttery, definitely needs to be aerated. A sort of fruity, dark chocolatey taste with the dark chocolate lingering a bit.

Not bad but not exactly the taste I was going for. This wine is actually pretty sweet.

The first Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay was released in 1983. Dark Ruby with complex red fruit aromas and a jolt of spice. On the palate cherry and plum flavors with smoky peppery spice notes. Bold tannins, medium finish ending with earthy tones. Better than some prior vintages but not a fan. Tasting Sample.

Nice Merlot, seemed not very well rounded when first opened. Next day, this wine had really opened up and become smooth and silky.

Found this little gem at a small retail store in Santa Fe, a 2003 Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Merlot. This 11 year-old wine still has some real interesting current and pomegranate notes with some coffee, pipe tobacco and cedar notes. For $20, this was a great find and a lot of fun to play with. The KJ wines really do age beautifully!

Cheesy and cheap, but flavorful; plum, tobacco and oak

Fruity to taste & smell. Not bitter… pretty easy to drink!

Deep dark purple color that gets brown towards the rim. I find it tight, but get the earthy, tobacco and chalk coming through.

Drinking Kendall-Jackson Merlot with Thomas in Maine. Rainy day in Acadia hiked Precipice Trail and now watching the Presidential debate between Trump and Biden.
