Nice violet flower notes stood out the most. Good fruit concentration, plenty ripe and youthful for 7 years. Red and black berries, some spice, but this is mostly about the fruit and violets.

Opaque violet color with aromatic, appealing olive tapenade , slightly meaty, pepper, crushed rock, mixed black and red fruit,and violet aromas. On the palate its silky smooth, harmonious, and elegant with dusty well integrated tannins with blackberry, sour dark cherry, baked blueberry and black raspberry flavors with a long mineral accented finish.

With all the Great wines I almost missed this potential star! Impressive a 92-94 rating

What a wonderful wine. Dark ink. David said he noticed a little brown edge on it. It has aged magnificently. Much fruit left after nearly 20 years. Good acidity and tannin. Still at or close to its peak. A privilege.

Saw a note this week suggesting that this might be on the downslope. Not this bottle. Still going strong with plenty of fruit, acid and tannic grip. Right in the middle of its prime I suspect.
