While young this wine shows a deft balance and has a superb finish for its price!

Pot roast braising wine - prefect. Clearly Rhone, more about earth and structure than fruit. Not a ton of complexity, but true to type.

White rhones are cool! Great little value. Tons of honey suckle, oxidative nuttyness and PEAR. Pretty much tastes like it's made of pear! Marsanne & Rousanne.

Really enjoyed this one, so representative of hermitage. Worn leather, dark fruits, tobacco. Delicious.

Interesting wine. Needed 2 hours of decanting. When it opened up it had a dark dry fruit taste, some pepper and an aged edge. Not much depth but had the purity characteristic for a Northern Rhône.

Very complex. Smoke meat and mineral nose. Black cherry with low acidity.

So much cured and smoked meat, leather, barnyard. Had Crozes written all over the nose. Went amazingly with a really funky Tomme de Savoie, bringing out incredibly bright fruit in the wine that was in the back seat without the cheese.

Very dark purple-red, even near black in the middle of the bowl. Small nose. Dry: currant, coffee, porcini, tart cherries, tiny bit of oak wood smoke. The best feature: a dry, lingering finish that rolls over and back among those flavors above, chased by a nice warmth.
