Great value. Still holds well after 16 years of aging. The alcohol still needs time to blow off. High concentration, balanced, full body. Cassis, long finish. All around crowd pleaser. Not complex though and the alcohol is too overpowering, so not very balanced either. Can buy again since it’s only 30 bucks.

This is a Hendry Block 8 Cabernet Sauvignon vintage 2002. This was part of a warehouse sale Hendry had when they discovered a lot of wine that had been stored off site. Wine club members could get a case of wine (winery choice) for around $20.00 per bottle. What a deal...we got some gems. Was a little worried as the top half of the cork had started to disintegrate and I feared the worst. The bottom half of the cork was intact and almost immediately lovely fruit aromas filled the room. Big sigh of relief and joy! Amazing how well this wine held up! Lovely fruit aromas with velvety tannins with a nice lingering finish.

1997 vintage. Surprised at how tight it was. Didn't get a chance to decant as long as I wanted so possibly needed more time to open up. Was a bit rugged. The power was masking the fruit.
