Venezia Giulia Malvasia

Not at all about the floral, potpourri qualities that might be expected from Malvasia. Instead, more about iodine, gravel, tomato, dried salami. Weird yeah.

My heart is still with the Ograde but this is awesome nonetheless!

Really wonderful wine, especially pored with fish roe pasta, wow.

Off the charts good! This is how you end a tasting. A well-balanced orange wine. Great salinity and blood orange notes. All things in check.

Malvasia (skin macerated) reference point. In such a nice place out of the gate; today (day 3) shows more depth and layers. Savory orange, appropriate bitterness, firm grip, resolute length, shows no heat or imbalance (at 14abv)…I could go on. Some folks rally around Ograde, but my money has always been on the Malvasia.

Fresh floral aromas and crisp apple / stone-fruit buoyed by decent acidity.

Holy smokes. Bought this years ago from Sandy Skerk. So worth the wait!
