Light yellow gold. Bright fruit forward nose. Notes of lemon and apricot, wet gravel stone, some honey and a delicious spice. Fine grained acidity hits the mouth and makes an impact. Great nose powers up over the evening. Still young and needs more time to improve. Lighter in the mid palate but still outperforms expectations.

Straw gold. Light and bright. Sweet sea breeze nose. Notes of tart lemons, white rock, oyster shells and a bit of honey. Tight in the mouth. Still young. Lots of acidity. This is where it should be at age 12. Hope the other bottles in the mixed case are on the same path. Lots of upside.

This was next level for me vs the La Forest but I think the table was split on the comparison. Rich and full but not fat at all, still marked tension and palpable minerality and just so substantial while being undeniably light on its feet. F’n love everything about it.

Blind tasted and called 2009 Burgundy Chardonnay, specifically, Meursault from a high quality producer. 1 year off on vintage and correctly called Burgundy Chardonnay! The wine’s color and development implied 8-10 years of age. The wine was showing quite uniquely. On the nose was wet wool, cheese rind, woodsy qualities, wet slate and perhaps a bit of earth. The palate, lemon candy or lemon curd and hints of almond skin. A unique showing from 2008 Chablis.
