Fleurie Gamay

Translucent ruby-red. Smoky, mineral-tinged red fruit, spicecake, game and potpourri aromas are complemented by suggestions of allspice and licorice. Juicy bitter cherry and red currant flavors slowly flesh out and turn sweeter with aeration. delicious bright fruit with lots to say. i’d buy this Gamay again.

Very fresh, juicy, concentrated, funky in just the right way. Blackberry and menthol. A pretty peppery quality. So clean and juicy and elegant. I’ve found all of Sunier’s wines to be top notch and in league with the region’s best producers.

Update: on the half full bottle that has been in my fridge for a week, it’s positively stunning.. resolved into the most seductive florals. Rerating to 9.4. Bodes very well for storage.

Vivid, high-toned, finely etched tannin and great dimension. Captures the depth and complexity that I love in Fleurie so well. Bramble, wild herbs, floral bouquets, potpourri and finely crushed rocks

Strawberry compote with some spice. I think this will be much better with some age to settle it's youthful exuberance
