A perfect steak & claret night begins with Champagne and concludes with Port, and this 1985 capped the evening off nicely. Perfect sweetness, intriguing earth, tannins left behind in the barrel and moreish acidity made for a great experience. The Barros was an excellent partner for the cheese!

A tapestry of luscious dried fruit: figs, apricots, raisins, and prunes, all wrapped up in a soft yet very thick velvety mouthfeel. There are hints of cloves, caramel and even tobacco on that linger on the pállate. Well worth waiting for 58 years!!
