Really solid varietal character. Nicely done! The high alcohol (15%!!) does come with pronounced bitterness, though the sweetness from the well chosen oak does work to mask it a bit.

Not as good as the one I had the night before but still very enjoyable.

Rich, voluptuous and powerhouse of aromas. Benefits from a decant if you can give it one...around 30-45mins at this stage. Light golden in the glass offering up notes of lemon cream, sea salt, honey roasted cashews, honeysuckle and baked lemon scone. It’s viscous on the palate cascading all over, and while big, there is a line of acidity that is picked up from entry and maintains all the way through the finish...not sure if I’d call it “mineral” like, but it helps give complexity and add balance. Honeyed clover, more sea salt, lemon meringue pie too. So lush with a lingering finish. Everything about this screams Aubert and even when young, these are just superb Cali Chards.

WNH event number 3...new world Pinot. Such a treat to experience the many different variations of Pinot!

To end the night, why not bring out an insane chard? Goodness. This is powerful and young. Lemon cream, toasted cashews, and meringue on the nose. The palate is rich and bold, with sharp acidity. Marzipan and nutmeg on the finish. Didn’t see who brought this, so let me know who brought this, guys!

An ultra prestigious Chardonnay, outstanding intensity and complexity, big nose of whipped cream and pineapple, more ripe tropical fruits and a bit of citrus on the palate. Tremendous wine.

No formal notes taken. Another beauty though, needed more air than it got but was still a joy to try.

My. Goodness. The nose on this may be one of the best Cali chards I’ve come across...rivals Aubert’s Lauren. Sweet mint, burnt lemon meringue and guava. Intoxicating. Glycerin like on the palate...front and mid-palate have Aubert’s signature lemon cream note. Lengthy finish highlighted by a cobbler like note. Fantastic!
