Château de Saint-Cosme
Les Deux Albion Côtes du Rhône Red Rhône Blend
Inky vibrant purple. Fennel, anise and a hint of sapid black fruits (currant/berry/cherry<?>)). Densely packed and ripe palate with some overt sweetness could be good for some but too ripe for me.

Jul 22nd, 2022A great step up from a village Cotes-du-Rhône! Aging gracefully. Even better than the last time I tried it.

Mar 16th, 2018Tart blackberry, mint, lavender. Loads and loads of garrigue, black pepper and mineral structure. Astonishing 42 days skin contact in addition to the usual whole cluster inclusion. Wild, feral intensity and layers of complexity. One of the best Côtes du Rhône tasted in recent memory and a real smash hit with my staff. Not often do you find cellar worthy red for under $20, but Saint Cosme brings the thunder and the value once again.

1 person found it helpfulDec 30th, 2017Nicely resolved; blackberries, dark cherries, blueberries & black raspberries. Black cherry cola/licorice, a little VA (band aid), pepper, grilled meats, dry stones, crushed rock power, stems, touch of herbs, dry flowers, medium+ acid, good length & tension with a long, juicy, polished dark fruit finish w/ anise. A very good QPR. Still a little early on this 11. Better in 2-3 years.
