Just can’t quit smiling

Dark, inky in color with an intense brooding nose of dense tar, black olive, and a surprising blast of oyster and rock pools. An exceptionally fresh bottle for a 40 year old wine. With time in glass more violets and blue fruit. On the palate it’s pure and intense. Rich growling fruit with leather and tobacco. A bit feral, but fun. This is great, with decades ahead. Wow

Dark and growly. Leather but a pretty rose note. A bit of stink, and tarry leather. Time in glass there’s a lifted pettiness. Very good fruit, really pure. Punchy but really clear and delicious. Yum

Brilliant. Light bodied and graceful with pure and elegant red fruits carrying graceful tannins and lovely acidity into a long finish. Understand style. Burgundian. Love it!

This one took a while to come around (2 hours), but was pristine and very fresh! It's got some years in front of it.

Corked

There is really very little tannin here and I question how much longer this will hold up. I think it is at peak drinking. Cellar funk.
