If only I could afford more of this stuff...
On the nose, you're presented with a heady cocktail of roasted nuts, cassis, earth and spice box. The palette is equally striking, with sweet cinnamon, cloves and cherries, adding layers and texture. Mid palette is still displaying a ripe tannic structure, which helps to extend the flavors and enhance its density. The wine still displays a youthful freshness which belies it 11 yrs. 13.5% abv is in alignment with all of the components. Happy Labor Day w/end to one and all.

Quite disappointing on many levels. Lovely nose, but for the rest, giving up nothing. Drank over 2 days. Frustratingly, I think this needs another 3 - 5 years

16 years old and singing! I think that the sweet spot is the next 5 years.

Pop and pour. Mainly a pairing for comte potatoes, since the main was scallops. On the nose: coconut, vanilla, blackberry, soft herbs. On the palate: good acidity, balckberry, mulberry, soft cola, and very juicy on the still densely tannic finish. I don't get the feeling this is going to dry out anymore, but it's also not super-exciting. Drink up.
