Mandolás Tokaji Dry Furmint Blend

I liked this wine — zippy yet creamy — but it is a Furmint that’s trying to be a Chardonnay. Which is not a bad thing if you like Chardonnay, which I do! But worth noting.

Bright and zingy, nose of tropical fruits turns into lots of citrus on the palate.

Great Furmint from Tokaji

$10 and this was worth its weight in gold. Honey, wax, and bruised fruits with still plenty of acid left. Furmint can age!

Lovely with a bit of air. A bit of wood on the opening—thankfully this fades as the wine opens up. Fragrant, great minerality. Almost Chablis-like. Lemon, oyster shell, great acidity.

Great tasting experience! 17yr old, $20 dry tokaji is still pretty tasty. Acidity completely on point, if a bit musty. Weighty and concentrated but super dry and tart. Cooked lemon, crystallized ginger, yellow squash.. Really interesting.
