Sipping Fine Wine

The vineyard seemed to have escaped the worst of the 2012 hail. A nice heavy weight Burgundian Chardonnay with complex aromas of stone fruits and spice. On the palate Apple, peach flavors with citrus and vanilla spice, with a slight creamy texture. About 10% of the wine sits on oak adding roundness and mouthfeel to the wine. The wine has good length and ends sleek with mineral tones. The wine is great now but can stand up to some age. Pricey but splurge on that special occasion.

2011 vintage. Short bread, cream, sour cream, nuttiness, stone fruit profile. On the palate, wet stone and apricot / nectarine to the fore, medium acidity and body, broad on the mid palate, medium plus concentration and finish. A very well made wine that oozes enjoyment.

What a great expression of Meursault. Delicious and balanced fruit and that unique " nut-like" undertone that makes Meursault so, so... Meursault!
