Jun 1st, 2021Mid Gold and crystal clear. Trademark aromas of Lychee with a touch of nutmeg. Lychee and honey on the full bodied palate. I have seen very long drinking windows for this Cuvée but for me this is ready to drink with very little acid. It remains a delicious drink and one of the 1001 Wines.

Jul 8th, 2019Vintage 2012 / lychees and enormous minerals, much power and bitters, clearly a dinnerwine, too young now and will gain complexity

Apr 24th, 2019Spicy and sexy. All the lychee and honeysuckle, melon and white flowers standard with Gewurz but with a lightness and focus only this producer and cuvée could bring.

Apr 14th, 2019January Wednesday Wine Committees are always a great as the red wines are required to be 11yrs old, making all of the reds 2008 vintage. 1 sparkler, 2 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine were served today, all blind.
Delicious and shocked it was gewürztraminer. It was sweet/botrytis like, but not overly so. I didn’t pick up lychee or honeyed pear that I usually do with this grape. Touch of petrol. My guess was Alsace Pinot Gris in vindage tardives style. At least I got the country and region.

There’s nothing quite like this - gewürztraminer with age / floral for days

Oct 18th, 2018Had the 2008, I think that it needs a few more years. I had the 2004 a a year back and it was amazing. Love Trimbach!

Sep 15th, 2018Not as crazy a floral nose as some gewutrz. Soft oily poised palate. Beautifully balanced and lush on the tongue. A hint of sweetness but really yummy
