Well I'm not surprised to say that there was a bit of challenges with the cork from this 1997 Süssreserve Vidal from Pillitteri. Fortunately the cork maintained it's overall structure enough to protect the wine! :) Notes: the colour is a honey yellow showing signs of significant aging. The nose is instantly intriguing with melons very present. The sugars in this Vidal has allowed for a graceful cellaring over the past 17 years. The flavours include honeydew melon, with some balancing acidity.
