Dark translucent purple. Intoxicating nose! Cola, black pepper, anise, blueberry and tar. Beautiful complex aromatics. A bit light on the palate weight, but good through the mid a nice light coating of tannin. Nice acidity, very bright. Like it a lot.

Paso Robles at 12.2%. (!!!) Mourvèdre steppin lightly. Prettiness and elegance, blueberries, plums, and the tiniest hint of wild game/animal. Great acidity, and angles where you want 'em. Can't wait to see where she is in 6 months.

What a difference 4 years makes since last tasting this. This is much more secondary with cherry, herbal forest floor, mushroom, leather, dried lavender, maybe some meat notes. It almost seems like a Sangiovese as I’m thinking about it, but more game like components. So freaking good but start drinking soon!

Tasting great. Still some tart cherries and good acid. A bit of game and dark fruits as well. There’s a pine forest freshness to this one as well. I think 2012 was a shift in winemaking from the previous Mourvèdre vintages from broc. Still has a good amount of life left.

Tasting great at 12 years old. Definitely has more life. There are a few secondary notes of some sweet dried fruit and bit of tomato paste, but overall still great acidity a bunch of dried herbs, tart cherries, a bit of plum, forest mushrooms, really wonderful.

This is great, but was shocked that it had so much oak characteristics. Not what I was expecting! Nose is wonderful plums, fresh herbs, cedar, and even a bit of leather. Palate is more plums, cherries, red apple skin, then oak, baking spice. I really like it and would have never guessed this as a broc wine. Fascinating to go back in their vault. Would love to know more about this one.

So amazing at 8 years old. Needs an hour of air. Nose of dried flowers, dried cherries, and a wood like smell that I can’t put my finger on. Palate explodes with flavors, blueberries, cedar, more dried herbs and flowers, some dried fruit but this has many years ahead of it. Outstanding

Like drinking a cherry cola. Really interesting wine. Nose has candied orange with butterscotch. Wonderful flavors of herbs and a zing of acidity. Really lovely.
