Dinner on the Serengeti. A nice fruit driven drinker. What more could I possibly expect for a $13 screw-cap? What it lacked in complexity was made up in ease of drinking. Smooth and rounded, pairing well with spaghetti bolognese and the smell of wildfires.

Peter Koff's greatwine2u, $15

Big juicy fruit on the nose with a touch of oaky notes. On the palate, that bright juicy fruit starts off followed by a slight floral bitterness. The oak is very subtle and well integrated, I hardly notice it and I'm pretty sensitive to oak, finishes with a slightly sweet maybe smokey chocolate note. Tannins we're fine and light, good balance of acidity, really smooth in general. Only complaint was the bitter note on the mid finish but overall a really nice wine and amazing for the price!

Deep red, Ruby. 2019 so needs more time to mature. Smokey, rich, wood chip.

Tasted in 2014: More complex than most South African reds. Earthy, smoky aromas of leather, concentrated black fruit. Structured with plenty of tannins.
