Lynn Penner-Ash and her husband, Ron, started Penner-Ash in 1988. Deep red with fresh fruit aromas and spice. A blend of Pinot Noir (70%) and Syrah (30%), on the palate strawberry and raspberry flavors with cinnamon spice and toasty oak notes. A rare Pinot blend that PA pulls off very well. Good balance with acidity, lingering finish ending with tobacco and espresso notes. Nice value.

I really like both of these varietals on their own and would have never thought of blending them. PA did a good job here, but I think Pinot Noir excels on its own. I give them a 9 because it was a well built wine and a good try. Really like how Oregon is moving outside of just the willamette.

You know that friend that went off to college/live in southern CA, and made friends with questionable people, and you just watch them lose their dignity with every Instagram/Facebook post?....Syrah is Pinot's questionable friend. Sure, it brings out some new aspects, and personality...but ultimately you wish you had your old friend back. (Ripe fruit, a HINT of teriyaki jerky, and well integrated oak)

The blend I'm excited about right now: works with a filet of salmon or steak. Can make it as a session wine as well. Looking forward to trying some of the elders...

Label says an “irreverent blend” of Pinot Noir and Syrah. Dictionary says Irreverent - “showing a lack of respect for things generally taken seriously.” Spot on here - a traditionalist would flip. I admire the Creativity and irreverence here, but this wasn’t for me. The Syrah dominates.
