Dark intense purple color. On the nose a meaty, plummy, gnarly beast. Intense savory notes with dried herbs, a hint of cornas in character style, and feral blue stuff. Astonishing depth and purity of fruit at the front given its age. I’ve never had a barbera of this intensity and style before. Unfortunately in the palate it is a short treat and relatively simple, though plush. Not much finish on this. A great surprise though...
