Good but a little less full than I wanted. A good wine. Lots going on. Needs a bit of time I feel.

Tobacco, olive, blackcurrent with a hint of eucalypt, savoury with a lovely spread of grainy tannin. Fruit perhaps a bit muted if I was pushed to complain!

Light and lithe as far as cabs go. The eucalyptus note really burns your nose in the proper way—it’s mint to your ripe fruit salad. Tannins are on their way to knitting themselves in. And hand-harvested by koalas! Not really but I very much want to imagine koalas picking wine grapes. Apologies if I am objectifying...

Brooding black currant, cedar, eucalyptus, dusty dark chocolate, grippy tannins. An animal hint on the nose. There’s a dark, elegant richness that’s neatly structured. Still years ahead of it.

Loving the deep, dark fruit and well balanced oak and tannin.
I really enjoyed it.

3/6.5/9.5 = 19 out of 100 say 95
2010 vintage - great bouquet - really showcasing that classic Coonawarra cab sav fruit. Rich fully ripened fruit on the palate with a great linger.

Apparently it’s International Cabernet Day. Or perhaps it was on Aug 30. The world can’t seem to agree on this one. Nevertheless, this is exactly the cabernet I felt like drinking tonight. Young enough to be vibrant, with just enough time in bottle to create some intrigue. It’s concentrated and luscious with a dusty cocoa thread. The nose tends towards savoury with some nutty, woody and fragrant leafy notes, while the palate offers elegant black fruits, some herbaceousness and a little menthol. Rather delightful.

Quakers - Grape and plum nose and initial flavour, lots of depth and spices after.

Quintessential Coonawarra Cabernet. Eucalyptus, almost peppermint on the nose with high yet well integrated tannins and alcohol.
