Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

This was the unicorn “Vielles Vigne” bottling. Might hang in for a decade or more. Great job Tony Soter. Special fruit to work with that inaugural year

Ripe and rounded. Dark plum, violets. Some inky notes. Still quite contained and coiled but every good. Time will help

Soft with dark plum and black cherry. Some dried herbs notes. Supple, softened with the age. Really lovely and pretty and balanced. Certainly Life ahead, but really great now. Excellent

Warm and pretty. Violet and plum. Mineral notes. Savory for a Napa and very balanced. Delicious.

The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard is the last wine Bart and Daphne Araujo made from start to finish before selling their winery and vineyard to the Artemis Group. All the Eisele signatures are there, but the volume is just turned down. Dark berry fruit, gravel, spice, earthiness and leather lend striking aromatic nuance throughout. This mid-weight, supremely elegant Cabernet Sauvignon is sublime. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. Superb. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2022)

Melting into its perfect frame, everything is just right in this sublime gem. Strawberry compote and layers of light cassis, bridle leather. So much going on but likely a bit past its peak. Beautiful.

Next level Napa cab. If this were a movie star, it would be Humphrey Bogart; smooth but intense, smokey and debonair. Totally resolved this had an incredibly long finish…I think I can still taste it. Outstanding.

Ethereal. Red fruit, candied lavender, iron, blood and sweet sage. Everything balanced. Palate coating but never obvious. Fine, fine tannins. A revelation to me. Excellent in every way.

Missing something; wondering if I waited too long (seems unlikely) or if the bottle was off. Still quite good
