Eisele Vineyard Syrah

Perfumed, intense and polished. A little hot on the palate but very pure and focussed. Quality is great but a little less expressive and fun than the Rhônes alongside

Happy birthday Rose! A quarter century young. So alive. Black pepper. Meat. Woody.

Cellared well this was really fun to open. Maybe because of the vintage this is a restrained Cabernet. Light oak with black cherry with a mocha finish.

This was fresh out of f’n around. Dense dark fruit, smoked game meat and soil. A friendly monster.

Came out swinging hard, almost profound, but fell apart somewhat quickly...unlikely meant to have cellared so long. I’d love to taste younger versions of this - there were hints of real greatness.

So gorgeous. Cant believe how young and fresh this tastes. 04 that takes like a 12. All floral and pretty, plenty of dark berry fruits on the nose and palate, super elegant and refined.

A Napa Syrah under 14.5% ABV? Prime example of what Syrah should be like...can achieve. The most impeccable balance of Syrah I’ve ever had. Red and black fruits dominate the nose alongside tobacco. Finish of nutmeg, mint leaves.

Kalamata olives, deep raspberry fruit, smoke, licorice, anise, vanilla, and a long chalky finish. An excellent Napa Syrah from one of the great estates in the valley.

Solid bottle of Syrah. Within a half hour it really opened up nicely. I'm a fan.

Great example of the Eisele vineyard. Racy, elegant, intense. A blockbuster.
