Speris began working as vine growers in Valpolicella seven generations ago. Deep Ruby with aromas of dried berry fruits and sweet smoky spices. On the palate flavors of ripe plum and sweet berries with cacao, spice and fig flavors. Fine tannins, long complex rich finish ending with fruit, tobacco and earthy notes, good structure. Will continued to get better with age, good now. Sustainable.

Neither raisiny with VA nor particularly concentrated. Clean but less enjoyable than the Valpol of the other day.

This dark wine offers aromas of blackberry, vanilla and cedar on the nose, along with a strong sense of minerals.  Dark fruit dominates on the palate, with sweet oak spice, chalky limestone minerality and very firm tannins.  Have a steak with it, or game meat dishes.

Really good. Needed about 30 minutes to an hour in the decanter to open up. Then it was classic.

Gorgeous, old-school Amarone. Twenty years in, and it's a delight.

Solid bottle of Amarone. Needed 30+ minutes to open up. Black licorice, dark berry. Tasty.
