Too young it seems. But still good for a basic table wine.

One of my favorite wine lists in SF, Uma Casa pours almost exclusively Portuguese offerings. While I’m not ready to dish out the dough for Barca Velha, Casa Ferreirinha’s entry red is tasting quite nicely. Plush, velvety tannins pave the way for flavors or dusty violet petal, plum skin, hibiscus and blueberries. Rather primary, but super sumptuous.

Solid everyday quaffer or a decent compliment to barbecue. Dried black fruit aromas, moderate alcohol, relatively smooth tannins and fairly low acidity. Very forward, simple wine with a surprising raisin/prune character for such modest ABV %.

2017 vintage. Dark, plush fruit flavors. Stewed black cherry, black plum, baked raspberry, licorice, vanilla. Little bit of tanginess keeps the palate from being too jammy.

Dark red fruit, gamey and tannins for days. Defiantly lots of French oak. Pretty killer value for the cellar.
